Gujarat Coronavirus tally nears 28K, death toll 1,685

Gandhinagar: With an addition of 563 cases on Monday, the second highest single-day spike, Gujarat's tally of Covid-19 positive cases climbed to 27,880. The death toll also continued its upward trend to reach 1,685.

On the other hand, Ahmedabad's tally of Covid-19 cases on Monday crossed the 19,000-mark to 19,151.

New Corona cases in Gujarat districts

Out of the 563 cases reported on Monday, 314 cases were detected in Ahmedabad (55.77 per cent), followed by Surat (132), Vadodara (44), Gandhinagar (15), Jamnagar (10), Bharuch (10), Aravalli (9), Bhavnagar, Junagadh and Narmada with (7 each), Anand (6), Bharuch (5), Mahesana (4), Bhavnagar, Patan and Kheda with (3 each), Mahisagar, Sabarkantha, Botad, Gir-Somnath, Valsad and Amreli (2 each), and Banaskantha, Panchmahals, Kutch, Rajkot, Navsari and Surendranagar (1 each).

Till date, out of the total number of deaths, 1,351 people have died in Ahmedabad alone, followed by 128 in Surat, 49 in Vadodara, 23 in Gandhinagar, 15 each in Aravalli and Panchmahals, 13 each in Bhavnagar and Anand, 11 in Patan, 10 in Mahesana and 8 in Banaskantha.

Gujarat has one of the highest mortality rates in the country at 6.04 per cent.

On Monday, a total of 560 patients were discharged. Till now, total 19,917 patients have been discharged in the state.

Gujarat COVID-19 Districtwise update

With this, the total number of positive cases in Gujarat has climbed to 27,880. Ahmedabad continued to lead the state with maximum positive cases with 19,151, followed by Surat 3,365, Vadodara 1,903, Gandhinagar 570, Mahesana 215, Bhavnagar 200, Rajkot 186, Aravalli 176, Banaskantha 167, Anand 156, Sabarkantha 153, Bharuch 151, Patan 147, Panchmahals 140, Jamnagar 132, Mahisagar 126, Kheda 121, Kutch 110, Surendranagar 92, Botad 74, Valsad 71, Junagadh 66, Gir-Somnath 55, Narmada 53, Dahod 52, and 50 patients from other states.

Out of a total 3,29,343 RT-PCR tests carried out in the state, 3,01,463 have been found negative.

There are 6,278 active cases at the moment, out of which the condition of 6,211 is stable, whereas 67 critical patients are still on ventilator support.
