Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has accorded citizenship by a Royal Decree to a number of scientists, doctors, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs among them is also Faraz Khalid, an India origin entrepreneur.
Getting Saudi Citizenship has never been easy. But after the launch of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman’s pet project, Vision 2030, the Kingdom has relaxed a number of rules including the ones related to Saudi citizenship.
Financial news portal, Argaam, through its sources obtained the names of some prominent figures who have been granted Saudi Citizenship by a Royal Decree.
Among them is Indian origin Faraz Khalid. Besides him, other prominent figures who have been granted Saudi Citizenship by the Royal Decree are:
Indian origin entrepreneur Faraz Khalid had grown up and got schooling in New Delhi. He later acquired MBA in Entrepreneurial Project Management from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Faraz developed interest in Internet while he was in school. At young age when people asked him about his career, he would reply:
“I want to run a large consumer Internet company.”
Pursuing his dream, Faraz co-founded Namshi, which went on to become Middle East’s leading fashion online retailer. At Namshi, Faraz served as Managing Director from its foundation in 2012 to 2017.
Faraz later joined the e-commerce platform Noon - a $1 billion joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and a group of prominent Gulf investors, as CEO in 2017.
