A highest ever number of Muslims have entered the United Kingdom Parliament, or House of Commons, after the 2024 General Elections polling for which was held on Thursday July 04 and results were announced on Friday July 05, 2024.

London: A highest ever number of Muslims have entered the United Kingdom Parliament, or House of Commons, after the 2024 General Elections polling for which was held on Thursday July 04 and results were announced on Friday July 05, 2024.

As of 02:00 PM Friday London time, when the final results of the 644 seats of the total 650 were announced, a total of 26 Muslims have been declared winner in the 2024 UK Parliamentary Elections.

As many as 10 Muslims ended second with Leanne Mohamad, who lost the 2024 elections by just 528 votes in Ilford North constituency.

  1. Dr Zubir Ahmed is the Labour MP for Glasgow South West, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  2. Sadik Al-Hassan is the Labour MP for North Somerset, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  3. Rushanara Ali is the Labour MP for Bethnal Green and Stepney, and has been an MP continually since 6 May 2010.
  4. Tahir Ali is the Labour MP for Birmingham Hall Green and Moseley, and has been an MP continually since 12 December 2019.
  5. Dr Rosena Allin-Khan is the Labour MP for Tooting, and has been an MP continually since 16 June 2016.
  6. Apsana Begum is the Labour MP for Poplar and Limehouse, and has been an MP continually since 12 December 2019.
  7. Saqib Bhatti is the Conservative MP for Meriden and Solihull East, and has been an MP continually since 12 December 2019.
  8. Ms Nusrat Ghani is the Conservative MP for Sussex Weald, and has been an MP continually since 7 May 2015.
  9. Dr Rupa Huq is the Labour MP for Ealing Central and Acton, and has been an MP continually since 7 May 2015.
  10. Mr Adnan Hussain is the Independent MP for Blackburn, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  11. Imran Hussain is the Labour MP for Bradford East, and has been an MP continually since 7 May 2015.
  12. Afzal Khan is the Labour MP for Manchester Rusholme, and has been an MP continually since 8 June 2017.
  13. Ayoub Khan is the Independent MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  14. Naushabah Khan is the Labour MP for Gillingham and Rainham, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  15. Shabana Mahmood is the Labour MP for Birmingham Ladywood, and has been an MP continually since 6 May 2010.
  16. Abtisam Mohamed is the Labour MP for Sheffield Central, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  17. Iqbal Mohamed is the Independent MP for Dewsbury and Batley, and has been an MP continually since 4 July 2024.
  18. Yasmin Qureshi is the Labour MP for Bolton South and Walkden, and has been an MP continually since 6 May 2010.
  19. Naz Shah is the Labour MP for Bradford West, and has been an MP continually since 7 May 2015.
  20. Tulip Siddiq is the Labour MP for Hampstead and Highgate, and has been an MP continually since 7 May 2015.
  21. Zarah Sultana is the Labour MP for Coventry South, and has been an MP continually since 12 December 2019.

  1. Khalid Mahmood of the Labour party lost from Birmingham Perry Barr seat by Ayoub Khan, an Independent candidate.
  2. Iqbal Mohamed is the Independent candidate who defeated Heather Iqbal of the Labour party.
  3. Najmul Hussain of Labour party was defeated by Martin Vickers of Conservative party by over 3K votes.
  4. Rufia Ashraf of Labour party was defeated by Sarah Bool of Conservative party by some 3.5K votes.
  5. Zafran Khan of Labour party got defeated by Edward Argar of Conservative party by a little over 5K votes.
  6. Sajid Ahmed of Labour party has been defeated by Robert Jenrick of Conservative party by over 3k votes.
  7. Yousef Dahmash of Conservative party was defeated by John Slinger of Labour partyby ove 4K votes.
  8. Maahwish Mirza of Labour party has been defeated by Blake Stephenson of Consrevative partyby about 1.5 votes.
  9. Hajira Piranie of Labour party is defeated by Neil O'Brien of Conservative party by little over 2K votes.
  10. In Ilford North, Leanne Mohamad, granddaughter of Palestinian refugee who contested as Independent, lost the seat to Wes Streeting of Labour party by just 528 votes. Kaz Rizvi of Conservative party here got over 9K votes, and the division of votes resulted in the victory of Wes Streeting in this Muslim dominated seat.

One of the prominent Muslims who lost the 2024 UK Elections is Yvonne Ridley. Yvonne Ridley, who embraced Islam after spending time in Taliban captivity, contested the 2024 UK elections from Newcastle Central and West constituency as Independent. She however lost the seat to the Labour party candidate Chi Onwurah.

A total of 300 Muslims had contested the 2024 Parliamentary elections in Britain that saw for the first time the Hindus and Muslims asserting their importance.

In 2019 UK elections, a total of 19 Muslims had won whereas in 2017 the number of Muslim MPs in UK Parliament was 15.

Keir Starmer is new UK Prime Minister

Keir Starmer of the Labour party has been officially taken charge as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The Labour party registered a landslide victory in the 2024 UK Polls, winning a 412 of the total 650 seats with the result of 6 seats still pending.

Rishi Sunak led Conservative party won 121 seats - 250 less than the party's last tally.

Meanwhile, a record number of around 26 Indian-origin Members of Parliament (MPs) have also been elected to the House of Commons in the UK's General Election, with several Conservatives surviving an overall brutal outcome for their party.

Some of the newly elected Indian origin MPs are former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak Suella Braverman, Priti Patel, Gagan Mohindra, Shivani Raja, British Sikh MPs Preet Kaur Gill and Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, Navendu Mishra, Satvir Kaur and Jeevun Sandher.
