UPSC Civil Services 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the Civil Services Prelims Exams scheduled to be held in May this year.
In a notification Tuesday, the UPSC cited the 2024 Parliamentary Elections as the reason to postpone the Civil Services Prelim exams.
As per the original schedule, UPSC Civil Services Prelims was supposed to be held on May 26, 2024.
However since the CSE Prelims original schedule clashes with the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls, the UPSC decided to conduct it after the 2024 Election results are announced on June 04, 2024. The exam will now be held on June 16.
"Due to the schedule of the impending General Election, the Commission has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024 which also serves as a screening test for the Indian Forest Service examination, 2024, from 26-05-2024 to 16-06-2024," it said.
The UPSC IAS Written Exams (Prelims) is conducted in two sessions – General Studies (GS) and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT).
The General Studies (GS) paper will be held in the morning session from 09:30 am to 11:30 am whereas Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) paper will be held in the afternoon session from 02:30 pm to 04:30 pm.
As per the original schedule, UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024 will be held in 5 days starting from Friday September 20, 2024.
The UPSC Civil Services Main exam is followed by personal interview or personal test (P.T.)
