New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) Wednesday issued notification for the first phase of the 2024 Parliamentary Elections polling for which will be held on April 19, 2024.
A total of 102 seats in 17 states and 04 Union Territories (UTs) will go to the polls in the first phase of a total of 7 phases to be held to elect the 18th Lok Sabha.
“Filing of nomination will start from today i.e. Wednesday 20, 2024. The last date for filing nominations is March 27.
The 102 seats which will go to polls in the first phase of India's General Elections, all of the 39 seats of Tamil Nadu, 12 in Rajasthan, 08 in Uttar Pradesh, 06 in Madhya Pradesh, 05 each in Uttarakhand, Assam and Maharashtra, 04 in Bihar, 03 in West Bengal, 02 each in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, and 01 each in Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry
Polling for the second phase will be held on April 26, 2024 and nomination for which will be issued on March 25, 2024.
The counting of votes of all the seven phases will be held simultaneously on June 04, 2024.
