Acne vulgaris (AV) a prevalent skin condition affecting over 85% of young people globally, can develop at any age and is caused by sebaceous gland hyperplasia, abnormal follicular differentiation, microbial hypercolonization, and increased inflammation through the adaptive immune system.
Acne is classified into various forms like acne vulgaris, rosacea, cosmetica, fulminans, and mechanica.
Acne vulgaris (AV) has been identified by a number of names worldwide; In Urdu as Muhāse, Dāne, Funsi Hindi: Keel, Muhāse whereas in English as Acne, Pimples
• Whiteheads: Plugged hair follicles that stay beneath the skin and produce a white bump.
• Blackheads: Plugged follicles that reach the surface of the skin and open up. They look black on the skin surface because the air discolors the sebum, not because they are dirty.
• Papules: Inflamed lesions that usually appear as small, pink bumps on the skin and can be tender to the touch.
• Pustules or Pimples: Papules topped by white or yellow pus-filled lesions that may be red at the base.
• Nodules: Large, painful solid lesions that are lodged deep within the skin.
Severe nodular acne (sometimes called cystic acne): Deep, painful, pus-filled lesions.
• Hormonal disturbance
• Excessive intake of Sweets and oily food items
• Excessive oil secretion from skin
• Unhygienic condition
• Teen age
• Stress
• Family history
• Environmental pollution
• Use of oil-based soap and cream
• Anemia
• Constipation
• Irregular menstrual cycle
• Pregnancy
Red Spots and Pimples
• Various types of pimples, including small, discolored bumps.
• Pus-filled bumps (papules): Discolored bumps often red to purple or darker than skin tone.
• Blackheads: Plugged pores with black or white tops.
• Nodules: Painful, large lumps under skin.
• Cysts: Painful, fluid-filled lumps under skin.
• Washing your face daily with warm water and a facial cleanser.
• Using an oil-free moisturizer.
• Avoid makeup products
• Keeping your hands away from your face.
• Wear loose fitting clothes
• Shower after physical workout
• Take more vegetables and fibers in your diet.
• Avoid fast foods
Ubtan for local application
• Apply Maghz-i-Ghongchῑ, Roghan-i kunjad paste locally to the affected area overnight and wash it off the following morning.
• The paste, prepared by Sῑrkhām, honey and vinegar applied locally.
• The paste, prepared by Murdār Sang, was applied locally and mixed with vinegar.
• The local administration of a paste made from powdered khūbkalān, Sandal Safaid, and Sandal Surkh, mixed well with rose water.
