Malegaon:
Unlike thousands of other towns in the Indian subcontinent that
might have been glittered in dazzling lights as the sun set today
pronouncing the beginning of Shab-e-Baraat, regarded as a
golden night by millions of Muslims, black flags rule almost every
street and every house in Malegaon. Though the crowd exceeding lakhs
in number thronged the Qabristan - the Muslim burial ground
to offer special night prayers people are sporting black strips on their
shoulders as a mark of protest and to express their anger against
the government.
"Since last three years we are
pleading to the government to look into our grievances. Today the
situation has reached to such an extent where those belonging to the
ruling parties are holding demonstrations against their own
governments. But the government is adamant against us", Shafeeque
Ansari said to ummid.com while coming out of the Qabristan
after offering the prayers.
Shafeeque's son Sajid had taken
admission in a Chinese medial college but died in the 2006 blast
along with his cousin Shahbaaz.
Three years ago the same day on
September 8, 2006 a series of blasts had occurred near the Hamidiya
Mosque located inside the Qabristan killing more than thirty
people and injuring over three hundred, many of them being the
children who were offering the Friday prayers. The terror wounds might have
been healed by now but the tragedy doubled itself when the
investigating agencies blamed the Muslims for the Muslim killings
and arrested Muslim youths on the charges of executing the blasts
instead of arresting, according to the general perception in the
town, the real culprits behind the incident.
Accepting the call given by the Kul
Jamaati Tanzeem on the third anniversary of the 2006 blast today,
Muslims in Malgeoan are protesting to press their demands for
speedy completion of the CBI investigations, transfer of the cases
in a fast track court, equal compensation to the blast victims,
release of the innocent youths lingering in jail and
removal of KP Raghuvanshi from the post of the ATS chief.
Dharna
against Govt. apathies
Earlier in the day, Kul Jamaati
Tanzeem leaders sat for a dharna at Mushawerat chowk, one of
the blast sites, barely few hundred meters from the Qabristan.
The dharna that was joined by Awami Bharat Andolan
leaders Feroz Methiborewala and Kishore Jagtap among others began at
02:00 in the afternoon and ended peacefully at 05:00 in the evening
with the leaders pledging to fight till justice is done and the real
culprits of the blast are brought to book.
"What a pity! When LK Advani objected
over the detention of Hindu terrorists, Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh immediately sent the National Security Advisor to pacify him.
Here whole Malegaon is crying since last three years for justice but no one
in the government is ready to care for our grievances", Kul Jamaati Tanzeem
leader Maulana Ab. Hameed Azhari, who was leading the demonstration
said while reiterating the apt repeated demands.
Blaming the State Government and ATS
chief KP Raghuvanshi for their grievances Kul Jamaati Tanzeem
leaders warned the way things are being handled after Hemant
Karkare's death in Mumbai terror attack would be dangerous for the
country in the longer run.
"Till his death on November 26, Hemant
Karkare was exposing the dangerous terror network that
was hidden till then", said Sufi Ghulam Rasool and asked, "Where
have those big fishes gone all of a sudden that Hemant Karkare
wanted to catch? Where have those gone who, as claimed by Hemant
Karkare, were trained by Col. Prohit and his gang? Why Narendra Modi
was so anxious to offer a huge cash to Karakare's wife? Why the ATS
which is very quick in nabbing the Muslim youths is not showing the
same quickness in nabbing those who were in the list of slain ATS
chief Hemant Karkare?"
Stating that there is no such thing as
International Terrorism but it is a Global Industry of Terror that
is pushing us into the third world war Awami Bharat Andolan leader Feroz
Methiborewala who came with Kishore Jagtap from Mumbai to join
today's dharna in his speech said, "We are not here to fight
for a Muslim cause. We are fighting the in the National interest and
we have come here to save the whole Bharat."
