Bhopal: The
Dammam-based India Fraternity Forum, (IFF), has demanded the Indian
Central Government to take action on the recommendations of the
Justice Liberhan Commission Report which was appointed to probe the
destruction of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.
The demand was made in a seminar titled
“Justice Liberhan Commission and Indian Secularism” organized by IFF.
At the seminar a general overview came to the fore that the
government deliberately neglects the recommendations of enquiry
commissions.
This is the position of various findings of
commissions including the Justice Srikrishna Commission which probed
Mumbai riots that occurred immediately after the Babri Masjid
demolition. Such a mind-set from the government gives insecurity
feelings among the Muslims and Dalits in India, the speakers at the
seminar observed.
The seminar stressed the need of being united
to defeat the fascist forces by joining hands to build the nation
and march towards peace and prosperity.
According to a Press release of IFF, while
delivering keynote speech, Parvez Ahmed, IFF General Secretary,
said: “India is a secular country where Constitution guarantees
minorities' religious, social and economic rights but these rights
are not being extended to Muslim minority in India. Justice Liberhan
Commission report is utmost matter of concern and a corrective
actions is immediately required to save the Indian secularism.”
He added: “Gujarat could not be saved, because
culprits who publicly challenged law and order and secular
democratic values could move freely. Therefore, all culprits should
be brought to law by having hearing fast track courts”.
Aijaz Ahmed, acting president of Bihar
Jharkhand Forum, Dammam (BJF) inaugurated the seminar and Mr.
Mohammed Shariff (Karnataka), Nazrul Islam (Assam), Mohammed Abdul
Waheed (Hyderabad) spoke in the seminar. The programme began with
Quran recitation by Mohammed Sohrab (Karnataka). The documentary
"History of Babri Masjid" was also screened during the event. A
large number of people attended this seminar.
The seminar was held in relation to the IFF’s
mass campaign among Indian expatriate community to try to enlighten
fellow Indian nationals that Babri Masjid was not just a Masjid but
a symbol of Indian Secularism. By demolition of Babri Masjid, the
fascist forces have succeeded in taking another step forward towards
the destruction of Indian Secularism.
It may be mentioned here that IFF is a social
and welfare organization having members from all parts of India and
conducting various activities for Indian community in the Kingdom.
IFF Hajj volunteer service is one of the remarkable services during
Hajj season in Mina and it is appreciated by Indian Consulate. Also
the Ministry of Health appreciated IFF’s excellent support during
the Dengue Fever campaign.
