Vested interests in IB implicating me: Madani

Sunday, June 13, 2010 11:42:43 AM, Agencies

Kollam: PDP chairman Abdul Nazar Madani who was included in the list of the accused in the Bangalore blast case, said that he was implicated in the case by certain vested interests in the IB.

Talking to reporters at Anwarsseri on Saturday, where he was camping for the past four days, Madani said that he would face the case legally and cooperate with the court proceedings.

"At the same time, I would try and get anticipatory bail," Madani said.

He added that his legal counsel in Bangalore had informed him that he was included as an accused in the blast case and that there was a move to implicate him in the other blasts cases that had happened elsewhere in the country.

The PDP leader who claimed that he was innocent said that in the Coimbatore blasts case also he was arrested and put on trial without having much evidence.

'No truck with LDF'
Madani said that the PDP now has no truck with the LDF.

"The PDP has decided to end its cooperation with the LDF as some of the LDF partners and a section of the CPM had opposed the relations with his party," he said.

The PDP is not repenting on the support it extended to the LDF in the Lok Sabha elections.

"In the coming elections to the local bodies and the Assembly, the party will take its own course," Madani said.
