New Delhi:
A government school teacher was beaten up by a Class 8 student
when she caught him cheating in an internal exam, Delhi Police
said Thursday.
Lalita Rani, a teacher in Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Sector-16 of
Rohini in north Delhi, was bashed up Wednesday during a math exam
in the afternoon.
"There was a math exam between 2.30 and 5.30 p.m. during which one
of the student was cheating," Rani told reporters here.
According to fellow teachers, the furious boy attacked Rani and
kicked and punched her before hitting her face with a sharp
object.
Although no police complaint has been lodged, the boy has been
suspended from the school, police said.
