              Aligarh: 
              Dr. S. M. Asad Ali Khurshid, Senior Lecturer, Department of 
              Persian, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded President’s 
              Award for his outstanding contribution in promoting Persian 
              language and literature. 
                
              
              President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil 
              awarded the Young Scholar’s Award, “Badrayan Vyas Samman 2009” to
              Dr. Khurshid in the special ceremony held at Ashoka Hall of 
              Rashtrapati Bhawan on May 6, 2011.  
              
                
              
              Dr. Khurshid is the first such young 
              teacher of the Department of Persian who has received the 
              prestigious award
