NR Congress (AINRC) leader N. Rangasamy Sunday met Puducherry
Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh and staked his claim to form the
              government.

The party's newly elected legislators met here earlier and
unanimously elected Rangasamy as the leader of its legislature

The AINRC won 15 out of the 17 seats it contested in alliance with
the AIADMK, which bagged five seats in the 30 member house.

A former Congressman, Rangasamy, 60, was the chief minister of the
union territory from 2001 to 2008.

A party leader told IANS that the decision on forming a coalition
              government will be taken later.
