New Delhi: Activists
of right-wing group Sri Ram Sene Thursday assaulted supporters of
Anna Hazare outside the Patiala House courts complex, police said.
Team Anna supporters had gathered outside the complex to support
advocate Prashant Bhushan who was roughed up Wednesday by a Ram
Sene activist - Inder Verma, supported by Vishnu Gupta and
Tejender Pal Singh Bagga of Bhagat Singh Sena.
As both groups shouted slogans outside Gate No.2 of the court,
which remanded the three youths in judicial custody for a day, an
argument broke out between them.
Two Hazare supporters - Mohd. Shoufi and Raj Kumar - were dragged
and thrashed by the right-wing activists while one of them was
repeatedly kicked in the face and the other was slapped and
punched.
Police took the duo to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.
Bhushan, a key member of Team Anna was attacked for his remarks in
Varanasi two weeks ago that there could be a referendum in
Kashmir.
