Kanpur: A soldier raped a high school student in an
Uttar Pradesh village and then shot her dead when she was about to
expose him, police said Friday.
Arvind Yadav assaulted the victim in Jahangeerpur in Ramabai Nagar
district Thursday, leaving her unconscious in a field.
When she regained consciousness and went home to narrate the
incident, the assailant barged into her house and shot her from
point blank range, police said.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Pradhan told IANS that the
soldier, posted at Naseerabad in Rajasthan, had been arrested.
