Bhagwat's Hindu nation remark dangerous indication of things to come: AAP
Monday August 18, 2014 8:59 PM, IANS

The AAP Monday slammed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for calling India a Hindu nation, saying such remark is a "dangerous indication of things to come".

The party accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party of dividing the society along communal lines to get political mileage in four poll-bound states.

"Statement made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat that India is a Hindu nation and Hindutva can assimilate other religions into it, is a dangerous indication of things to come," said a statement from the AAP.

The country's newest political organisation also criticised the Narendra Modi government for "shifting the line of discourse."

"Instead of addressing the issues of immediate concern, like inflation, the government is now trying to shift the line of discourse," the party further added.

"From the day Modi government assumed power, the RSS and its frontal organisations have been trying hard to stoke communal hatred. The BJP and the Sangh pariwar wants to repeat the Muzaffarnagar experiment in other parts of the country as well," it added.
