
Panaji: A native of Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for raping a minor girl, after luring her with a Rs.10 note, police said Monday.
The accused, Ishwar Yadav, resident of Bari in Uttar Pradesh, Sunday raped the four-year-old child behind a forested thicket near the Marcaim industrial estate, 30 km from here.
Police said the child, daughter of a labourer, was playing near a factory unit when Yadav enticed the girl with a Rs.10 note and took her to the forest.
Yadav was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, officials said.
