Muslims: The Director of Education Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has invited from July 30 onwards the students who had applied for admission to First Year Junior College (FYJC) but could not get admission becuase of varios reasons, it is officially announced.
According to an official notification released by the Deputy Director of Education, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the students who missed admission in earlier 05 rounds should now apply afresh from July 30 to August 02, 2016.
It is also announced that a Merit List for such students will be released on August 04, 2016, and the FYJC admission formalities for such students will be completed on August 5 and 6.
It is also announced that Special Round of Online admission will be held for those who have passed with A.T.K.T. and in the supplementary examination held in July 2016. Students who wish to change their existing allocation for whatever reasons and those who have still not register for whatever reasons can also take part in the Special Rounds.
"All such candidates are required to register & apply Fresh on payment of Fee", the Dy. Director said.
The Special Round will be arranged between August 9 to August 13, 2016. Special Round 2 will be held from August 18 to 23, and Special Round 3 will be held from August 25 to 30.
The Dy. Director also said that out of 2,22,622 applicants, only two applicants could not get allocation at the end of 4th Merit List. Out of 1,53,326 applicants who have completed admission formalities, 1,13,161 applicants were allocated according to their First/Second choice.
"Around 70,000 applicants did not complete admission formalities in spite of the fact that they were allocated according to their Merit and their preference", he said.
It is also learned that as many as 11,830 students got admission to FYJC colleges during the fifth round of admission process that ended on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Common Admission Process committee for admission to the first year junior colleges (FYJCs) in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area on Friday declared a joint schedule for the fifth round after discussions with education minister Vinod Tawde in Mumbai.
Earlier, the fifth round was to be held in two parts. But with parents protesting against the delay resulting in loss of academic days, the minister suggested a combined round at the earliest.
The fifth round of admission would start on August 1. It is open for students keen to change their college, the 142 students not getting any institution in the last four rounds and also for those either not filling up the online forms yet or filling up the forms incomple tely. The information on vacant seats per college would be put up on the official website of FYJC on July 30. The special round will start on August 10.
