Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) declared online the Class 10 (Matric) results 2016 today i.e. Sunday May 29, 2016 at 03:20 pm on its official website. The result declarartion was delayed by some 20 minutes as per the scheduled time announced earlier.
The Bihar board Class X 2016 results are available for download at the Bihar board official website, the link for which is www.biharboard.ac.in.
Students can immediately access their results by clicking on the above mentioned link.
According to the results announced on Sunday, more than 50 percent of the students appearing in the class 10 exams failed with the pass percentage only 44.66.
The pass percentage was expected to drastically fall this year due to strict measures against cheating, including CCTV cameras and prohibitory orders against ‘unlawful assembly’, in conducting the exams in last March. Last year, the pass percentage was 75.17 percent.
Around 15.73 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 10 i.e. Class X examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) from March 11 to March 18.
According to the board officials, only 10.86 percent students passed with first division, 25.46 percent a second division and 10.32 percent students passed with third division.
Interestingly, 42 students, who figure in the top 10 rank list of the class 10 exams belong to the one school – the Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya in Maoists-affected Jamui district. Several examinees there scored the same number of aggregate marks to make it to the elite list.
Bihar board's online partner Indiaresults.com had on Saturday announced that the BSEB Class X results will be declared on Sunday May 29 at 03:00 pm.
"Bihar School Examination Board - Class 10th (Matric) Exam Result 2016 Will Be Declared on 29th May at 03:00 pm", the message flashed on Bihar board's online partner Indiaresults.com.
The results however were declared at 03:20 pm Sunday May 29, 2016.
After the results got delayed, Bihar board's online partner Indiaresults.com started flashing the message that "Class 10th (Matric) Exam Result 2016 COMING SOON". The message was flashed on the website till the results were released online.
The board website seemingly faced some technical issue as logging on to the website at 03:15 pm the visitors got the message "Service Unavailable" message.
The results are now online and interested students can check and download their reusults online.
In order to download the results, candidates should visit the official website and click on 'Class 10th (Matric) Exam Result 2016 Will Be Declared on 28 May 2016 Now Available' link.
On the page which gets open, the candidates should enter their roll number and click on 'Submit' button. The results will appear on the screen. The candidates must take a print-out for future reference.

Last year, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) declared the Bihar 10th Result on 20 June 2015. The Class 10 exams were held in the month of March the same year, starting 17 March. A total of 14,09,173 students had appeared for the exams in 2015. The pass percentage in 2015 was 75.15% with almost 25% of failures.
The Bihar board Class 10 (Matric) results 2016 was expected to be declared on May 23 but it was later postponed.
The Bihar board declared the results of Class 12 Inter Science stream results on May 10 and Class 12 Inter Commerce stream results on May 17. The board declared Class 12 Inter Arts stream result Saturday May 28, 2016.
The Bihar School Examination Board is established for holding and conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage, for prescribing course of studies for such examination and for carrying out such other objects and duties as may be considered necessary for the purpose as stated in the Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board.
Normally every year the Bihar School Examination Board conducts Annual Secondary School Examination in the month of February/March and Supplementary School Examination in the month of August/September on the basis of course/syllabus as prescribed by the state Government.
Apart from the aforesaid Secondary School Examination, the Board also conducts departmental examinations (not on yearly basis) such as Diploma in Physical Education, Certificate in Physical Education and Teachers Training Examination on such terms and condition as laid down by the State Government.
