Malegaon: Jadeed Anjuman Taleem (JAT) Trust of Malegaon Monday added yet another feather in its cap by inaugurating a well-equipped in-campus Health Care Centre for its students.

With this JAT Campus becomes first in Malegaon, and probably among very few campuses in India, having an in-campus health care center for students.

“I have been practicing in Mumbai since last many years during which I visited many schools and colleges.

“These schools and colleges have a separate team for medical counseling which refers the students to specialist doctors if needed.

“But, nowhere in Mumbai I could find an in-campus health care center like the one we are inaugurating today”, Dr. Shoeb Mohsin said while addressing the inaugural ceremony held at Ahmed Sardar Hall.

Established in 1962 with about 60 students, Jadeed Anjuman Taleem (JAT) Trust today has over 12,000 girl students in its campus, studying in a chain of institutions including JAT Pre-Primary School, JAT High School & Junior College, JAT Arts, Science & Commerce College for Women, JAT College of Computer Science, Zainab Hajjin English Medium School, Haroon Ansari B.Ed. College and JAT D.Ed. College.

Besides these institutions exclusively for girls, JAT Trust also runs Haroon Ahmed Ansari Urdu Medium School for Boys and Haroon Ahmed English Medium School for Boys..

Applauding the initiative taken by the Jadeed Anjuman Taleem (JAT) Trust, Deputy Superintendent (DYSP) Malegaon Gajanan Rajmane also said that the in-campus health care center inaugurated today at the leading educational institutions of the city is rarest of rare in its kind.

“Providing medical and health facilities for students right inside the campus is truly a unique example. It will surely help the students in maintaining good health”, he said while addressing the opening ceremony.

At the same time he highlighted the importance of health, especially the health of girls and females. “A healthy female is a sign of healthy society”, Rajmane said.

Elaborating how important health is for maintaining quality education, Dr Jameel Gulsher Khan said, “Girl students are normally shy and hesitate to share health issues even with their parents. Sometimes they face psychological problems which if not resolved in time can drastically affect their academic record.”
“It is hence establishment of in-campus Health Care Center is surely a landmark decision by the JAT management”, he added.

Praising the initiative taken by the JAT management, especially its Chairman Ansari Nehal Ahmed, Mohammed Raza, a retired principal, said the health care center besides taking care of the health of the student will also check their poor attendance.

“During my thirty-three years of service, I have observed that girl students remain absent from schools due to trivial health issues. This happens because of lack of knowledge and awareness. I am sure attendance records of JAT students will improve after the establishment of the health care center”, he said.

Delivering the presidential address, Mushtaq Ahmed Ansari, Secretary of JAT Campus, said, “The establishment of the health care center is just a beginning. The JAT Management in fact plans to establish in near future a full-fledged hospital which will be open to all.”

The JAT Health Care Centre will be managed by a team of local doctors led by Dr. Aamir Siraj Ahmed Ansari. Besides him, the doctors who have pledged support for the successful running of the health center are Dr. Anwar Ansari, Dr. Jameel Gulsher Khan, Dr. Asif Siraj, Dr. Shoeb Mohsin, Dr. Salik Patel, Dr. Asefa Ansari, Dr. Afaque Anees and Dr. Aayat Afaque.
