Mumbai: Days after questions were raised about the religion of Rahul Gandhi, Amruta Fadnavis is facing heat as she was being asked if she was a Hindu before her marriage to Maharashtra Chief Minister.
Amruta Fadnavis’s fault was just sharing few images which a section representing intolerant lot in India linked with Christmas – annual festival celebrated world over by Christians.
Soon later there was a spate of tweets by angry trolls who questioned the religion of Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra BJP leader, and also asked her to promote Hindu religion and culture only.
"Where were you on Diwali Ganesh Puja or when Chennai & Mumbai were flooded "Santa" feeling are exclusive to "Christmas"? this is an abuse of your position and status...", a message posted on Twitter says.

Amruta Fadvasi was trolled because of her tweet which reads thus:
"Launched-Be Santa-campaign, as Ambassador for @927BIGFM - to collect gifts from people -for poor children ,to bring smiles to their faces during this Christmas.Drop ur gifts at nearest @927BIGFM & Feel the joy -as best way to multiply your happiness is by sharing it with others", she said.

Amruta however remained unperturbed and said "she is a true Hindu and celebrate all Hindu festivals with great zeal and enthusiasm."
"I’m a proud Hindu & like many, I celebrate every festival in my country & that is an individual choice.... We represent the true spirit of our country ... and that doesn’t dilute our love towards our country, religion & humanity ....", she wrote in another tweet.
Interestingly, Amruta Fadnavis faced the ire of Twitter users days after religion of newly elected Congress President Rahul Gandhi was questioned by none other than top BJP leaders.
