The NEET 2017 results were supposed to be decalred on June 08. They were delayed because of legal hurdles.

On June 20, candidates, who appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - UG (NEET 2017) - a mandatory test for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical courses, were up for a surprise when official result information site results.nic.in announced that NEET 2017 result will be declared on June 20 but later deleted the announcement.

"CBSE Exam Results - NEET Exam Results - 2017 ... To be announced on June 20, 2017", the official result portal results.nic.in said.

Following the official announcement, candidates were hooked to internet waiting for their results the whole of today. But, the CBSE did not declare the results.

They were further confused after they found the announcement on results.nic.in deleted.

The NEET 2017 results were delayed because of legal hurdles following petitions filed by some students in Madras High Court. All legal hurdles were cleared after the Supreme Court granted the CBSE permission to go ahead with NEET 2017 result declaration.

The Supreme Court also barred the high courts in the country from entertaining any petition on the entrance examination held for admission to various medical courses.

Consequently, the CBSE released the OMR sheets of the students on June 13 and the official Answer Keys on June 15. The CBSE has also given time till 05:00 pm to challenge the Answer Keys in case of any issue.

The CBSE in the Information Bulletin had fixed June 08 as the tentative date to declare the NEET 2017 result. Before that the candidates' OMR sheet and NEET 2017 Official Answer Keys should have been released.

However because of the legal hurdles the CBSE could neither release the OMR Sheet of the students nor the NEET 2017 Answer Keys in time.

The CBSE had conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET-UG-2017 on 7th May, 2017 from 10.00 am to 01.00 pm in offline mode across the country. The online exams were held on May 9.

The exams, conducted in 10 languages at 1921 Exam Centres in 103 cities, were held for UG admissions to 95,000 seats - 65,000 MBBS and 25,000 BDS, in all Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges and Deemed Universities across the country.

A total of 11, 38,890 students had registered for this examination including 1522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 Foreigners.
