New Delhi: Hours after BJP MLA and Opposition Leader in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta called acclaimed lawyer and historian AG Noorani ani-National for criticising Prime Minister Modi, writer-historian Ramachandra Guha on Tuesday tweeted that he has been getting "identical" threat mails for the similar reasons.
Guha, 58, claimed that the mails also warned him against criticising BJP President Amit Shah, according to PTI.
"Many people/ids sending identical mails warning me to "get ready to be punishment (sic) by Divine Mahakal" for being critical of the BJP," the tweet read.
"I am also warned not to criticize Narendra Modi and Amit Shah who 'are blessed & divine chosen one by Divine Mahakal to change the world'," he tweeted.

Cases of threatening calls and messages are becoming a norm ever since Modi government came to power in New Delhi. It surged however after BJP's victory in recently concluded Uttar Pradesh elections.
Guha's tweet came at the time when BJP MLA and Opposition Leader in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta called AG Noorani "anti-Nationa" and "pro-Pakistan" and slammed Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal for sharing dias with him.
Kejriwal had invited Noorani for a function organised by Delhi government to commemorate Shaheed Diwas.
