New Delhi: Amid reports that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership is cajoling Rajnikanth to join the party, Shatrughan Sinha, senior BJP MP from Bihar and also a filmstar, advised the Tamil Superstar to form his own political party.
In a series of tweets posted on social media site Twitter, Sinha did name the BJP but had enough hints to convey a political message to embarass the party he represents in the parliament.
"Nation is waiting with bated breath for @superstarrajini 's leap into constructive politics to shape the future of your people & nation", Sinha tweeted today morning.
"The people are with you and ready to join @superstarrajini and instead of joining anyone, it is best when others join you...", he went on.
"Hope, wish & pray that after consulting with your family, dear ones & experts, you take the right decision soon - sooner the better..", he tweeted.
Sinha's tweets appeared days after BJP president Amit Shah said Superstar Rajnikanth is "most welcome" to join the party.
On a mission to expand base in the south, the BJP is desperately looking for someone like Rajnikanth on its side.
A political party floated by a filmstar is not uncommon in Tamil Nadu where they are worshipped like god and goddess. Former Tamil Nadu chief ministers MGR and J Jayalaithaa are recent examples.
