Aurangabad varsity cancels MBA exam paper after it was leaked on WhatsApp

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad, Maharashtra on Monday cancelled the Accounting for Managers paper of MBA first term exam after it was "leaked" on WhatsApp.

The "leaked" paper has been rescheduled to January 03, 2018, university officials said.

According to a varsity official, an MBA first year student, Shaikh Amjad Kaleem, shared the image of the Accounting for Managers paper with his friends on WhatsApp. The incident came to light after some passerby noticed two youths trying to solve the question paper sitting under a tree inside the university campus.

"Three students have been detained by police in connection with the incident which occurred at the examination centre at Vasantrao Naik college in the city", news agency PTI quoted the university official as saying.

The university official further said that the three students would be debarred from attending exams for three years.

The Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has been conducting the examination for the MBA first term from December 26.

Authorities are examining how could Shaikh bring the mobile phone in the centre.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has decided to introduce jammers in exam centres so as to to put check on the use of mobiles and other electronic items for cheating during main exams.
