Riyadh: There were no charges, just some misunderstanding and its being cleared, the high profile Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal is seen as saying in an interview hours before he was released after two months of detention.

"There's a misunderstanding and its being cleared", Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal said in the interview while also giving the interviewer a tour of the "luxury jail" at the opulent Ritz-Carlton hotel in Riyadh where he was detained.

"Everything has been fine.. I exercise.. I streche.. I swim... I walk.. and I also have all my diet food. So everything is fine.

"It's like home. I call my family every day. I have my office here", Prince Al Waleed said.

Saudi billionaire Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal was detained along with 11 other princes on November 05 last year. The detention of the princes was followed after a new anti-corruption commission, headed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was established by royal decree a day before.

Allegations against Prince Al-Waleed included bribery and money laundering. The Prince however said, "There are no charges. There are some discussions with me and the government. And everything is fine now."

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was released from detention, family sources said on Saturday.

"He has he arrived home," one told Reuters.

Prince Alwaleed is the most high-profile detainee to have been released so far.

Prince Alwaleed told Reuters he was continuing to maintain his innocence of any corruption in talks with authorities.

He said he expected to keep full control of his global investment firm Kingdom Holding Co without being required to give up assets to the government.
