Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh police Thursday arrested 03 persons in connection with a viral video that showed Hindu Mahasabha leaders shooting at the effigy of Mahatma Gandhi in Aligarh.
The arrests came after police filed a case against 13 persons seen in the video. The key accused, Pooja Shakun Pandey who is Hindu Mahasabha national secretary, is however absconding, police said.
The FIR was lodged in the case under sections 147, 148 and 149 of the IPC.
"We are taking this matter seriously and action will be taken against all those found guilty," the SSP said, adding Pooja Pandey is absconding.

In the shocking video that went viral on social media, Puja Shakun Pandey is seen shooting the effigy of Mahatma Gandhi amid cheers and slogan "Mahatma Nathuram Godse amar hai".
After she “shoots at” the effigy, a red-coloured liquid is seen flowing from the effigy and somebody is heard saying "is ka khoon bahut ganda tha".
Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatama Gandhi, was a member of Hindu Mahasabha.
Hindu Mahasabha and othe extremist Hindu gorups hates Mahatma Gandhi puting the blame of partition on him. They had also announced to celebrate 30th January as Shauraya Diwas. [With PTI inputs.]
