FIR against Gurgaon Muslim Family

Gurgaon: Police in Gurgaon have registered a counter FIR against two members of the Muslim family that was attacked by a mob on Holi day in the last week and told to “go to Pakistan”.

Police said the cross-first information report was registered against Mohammed Abid and Aamir Khan, both in their early twenties, on the basis of the statement of an accused, who claimed that he was first attacked by the members of the Muslim family.

“Medical reports confirmed Rajkumar sustained head injuries,” Deputy Commissioner of police Himanshu Garg told The Times of India.

However, Mohammad Dilshad, one of the victims beaten by the mob, said that the charges against him and his family “make no sense”.

“I fail to understand what kind of system this is. The entire world has seen in a video that we were roughed up, that my hands were broken. Some of our family members are still lying in hospital, and now the police have filed a case against us. This is bizarre and complete injustice,” Dilshad told The Citizen.

The Muslim family living in in Gurgaon’s Dhamaspur village was beaten up by about 30-40 people with hockey sticks and iron rods at their home on Thursday. The case came to light after a video of the incident went viral on internet. Gurgaon police has so far arrested some 13 people based on the video footage.
