Haj Qurrah 2020 Schedule

Mumbai: The Haj Committee of India has sent to all State Haj Committee the tentative date and schedule to conduct Qurrah - the draw of lots, for Haj 2020.

India has been allotted a quota of 200,000 pilgrims. Of them about 40,000 go through Private Tour Operators. Rest all go through Haj Committee of India.

The Haj Committee of India normally receives applications more than the double of its allotted quota. This necessitates the Qurrah or draw of lots to prepare the final list of pilgrims going through the Haj Committee.

The Haj Committee of India is yet to publish the exact number of applications it has received this year. However, according to the officials the number of applications received this year is compartively less than previous years.

Haj Qurrah Date 2020

Talking to ummid.com, Haj Committee of India official said, the state Haj committees in Delhi and Gujarat will conduct Hajj Qurrah on January 08, Haryana will conduct the qurrah on January 09, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka will hold the Haj Qura on January 10 and Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on January 11, 2020.

Haj Qurrah by Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be held on January 13, 2020, the Haj Committee of India officials said. The Telangana State Haj Committee had earlier planned Qurrah on January 04. According to the latest updates, Telangana Haj Committee will conduct Haj Qurrah on January 13, 2019.

Haj Qurrah in Uttrakhand will be held on January 18, 2020, the HCoI official said.

There are rumours that Haj Qurrah in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will be held on January 14 and Jaunary 09 respectively. The official however said no date for Haj Qurrah in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh has been finalised yet.

Similarly qurrah date and schedule of pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and other states have also been not finalised yet, the official said.

Hajj Flight Schedule 2020

The Haj Committee of India further said that it will finalise Haj Embarkation points in the first week of October 2019 and agreement with Airlines will be signed in the 2nd week of January 2020.

The first outbound flight for Haj 2020 will depart from India on June 25, 2020. The last outbound Haj 2020 flight will be on July 26, 2020. The first inbound Haj flight from Saudi Arabia to India will be on August 04, 2020.

"The detailed Haj 2020 flight schedule with cover number of selected pilgrims will be released later on", the Haj Committee of India said.

Hajj 2020 Important Dates

Start of Online Application Process for Hajj 2020: October 10, 2019.

Last date to apply for Haj 2020: December 23, 2019.

Conduct of Qurrah for selection of Haj pilgrims: January 2020.

Last Date for receipt of Advance Haj Amount from the selected pilgrims: Will be announced later.

Finalization of Embarkation Points for Air Charter Operations: 1st week of October 2019.

Finalization of Air Charter agreement by MoCA with Indian Airlines/Saudi Arabian Airlines: 2nd week of January 2020.

Last date for submission of HAF/PP/pay-in-slip of Advance Haj Amount/Medical Certificate by selected pilgrims to State Haj Committees: January 31, 2020.

Release of wait-listed pilgrims against cancellation of pilgrims who have not submitted PP/Advance Haj Amount: January 31, 2020.

Last date for submission of Flight Schedules by Airlines to Haj Committee of India: February 15, 2020.

First outbound flight for Haj 2020: June 25, 2020.

Last outbound Haj 2020 flight: July 26, 2020.

First inbound Haj flight from Saudi Arabia to India: August 04, 2020

Coinciding with Eid al Adha, Haj is the annual ritual performed in the month of Dhul Hijjah to commemorate the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hager and their son Prophet Ismael. The likely date of Hajj 2020 is either on July 27 or 28, 2020, corresponding to 10th of Dhul Hijjah 1441 AH. As the Islamic calendar is based on sighting of moon, the final date will be decided once the new moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah is sighted.
