Jamia Millia Exam 2020: Jamia Millia Islamia has decided to cancel the Offline Pen and Paper based exam scheduled to start from July 01, 2020 in the wake of worsening impact of Coronavirus epidemic.
Jamia Millia Islamia had on May 7 announced that it will conduct offline exams for the final semester students from July 1.
"Examination for only final semester or year students will be held offline between 1st July 2020 to 31st July 2020 in the university. Students are requested to submit online examination forms as early as possible," the university administration said.
Jamia however now said that it has decided to cancel the offline exams and evlauation will now be done on online tests and assignments.
"Keeping the JMI students health concern prime and in accordance with the flexibility given in UGC guidelines on final semester/year exams, Jamia Millia Islamia has decided not to have a face to face/open book exam in July/August in Delhi for terminal class students", the university said in a notification.
"The assessment of terminal/final semester/year students of all the programs/courses of the university for the academic session 2019-2020 (including M.Phil/Ph.D course work) shall be done on the basis of Online Examination/assessment as given by teachers who are also the examiners and can use different modes of evaluation like assignments/dissertion/viva/objective type etc", the university said.
"The practical of the final year will be conducted by each department/centre as done in intermiary semesters. The same rules for the conduct of practical examination based on interaction, vica-voce, interview etc. shall apply as applicable to the students of intermediate semester/year", the Jamia said.
Meanwhile, the summer vacations of the university will start from June 15 and will continue till June 30.
"The university will reopen and classes for regular students to start from 1st August, 2020," the university said.
The meeting of the Academic Council of Jamia Millia Islamia was conducted through Google Meet on Wednesday.
The 4-hour marathon meeting was the first through online mode in the history of the university and was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar, Registrar A.P. Siddiqui, Deans and other members of the council.
