CTET July 2020: Wild speculations over Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are on as the board is yet to release the Admit Card for the July 2020 exams.
The CBSE in an official notification said it will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on July 5, 2020.
"The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the 14th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 05-07-2020 (Sunday)", the CBSE said in its notification dated January 24, 2020.
"The test will be conducted in 20 (Twenty) languages in 112 cities all over the country", the CBSE added.
Following the notification, the registration link on the official CTET website was made active. Hundreds of teachers desiring to appear for CTET 2020 then registered on the website.
They are now eagerly awaiting their CTET Admit Card (Hall Ticket). However, the CBSE is yet to release the admit cards.
The CBSE normally releases the CTET Admit Card 12-15 days before the exam. Accordingly, it should have released the CTET Admit Card for the July 2020 exam by now.
The delay in the release of the CTET Admit Card has given rise to the speculations that the CTET 2020 might also be postponed and rescheduled to some later date.
All major exams including annual exams conducted by various state boards, degree exams conducted by different universities, competitive exams conducted by UPSC and state public service commissions have either been cancelled or postponed because of Coronavirus pandemic.
Pressure is also building on the CBSE to cancel the Class 12th and 10th scheduled to start from July 1, 2020. National Testing Agency (NTA) too is under pressure to reschedule NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 exams.
Against this backdrop, speculations are rife that CTET 2020 could also be postponed and rescheduled. The CBSE has not officially issued any clarification about the delay in issuing the Admit Card.
The CBSE has also not updated anything about the postponement or rescheduling of the CTET July 2020. It is however expected that CBSE may issue an update very soon - most probably after the hearing in Supreme Court on CBSE board exams 2020 on June 25.
