ISC, ICSE 2020 Exams Postponed: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Thursday postponed ISC Class 12th and ICSE Class 10th exams due to Coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Council in a notification said the new date sheet and revised time table of the ISC Class 12 and ICSE Class 10 exams will be published on the CISCE official website very soon.
"The new dates of ISC and ICSE examinations postponed due to Coronavirus will be announced on the 31st March 2020", the CISCE said.
The ISC Class 12 exam began on Feb 03, 2020. The last paper was on March 31, 2020.
On the other hand, ICSE Class 10 exam started on Feb 27 and was scheduled to end on March 30, 2020.
The education ministry had on Wednesday asked the Central Board of Secondary Educationt (CBSE), CISCE, National Testing Agency (NTA) and all educational institutions in the country to postpone exams till March 31 in view of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
"While maintenance of academic calendar and exam schedule is important, equally important is safety and security of students who are appearing in various examinations as also of their teachers and parents," HRD secretary Amit Khare said in an official communication.
Following the advisory, the Class 12th and Class 10th exams conducted by the CBSE, JEE Main 2020 and other exams are also postponed.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has been so constituted as to secure suitable representation of: Government of India, State Governments/Union Territories in which there are Schools affiliated to the Council, the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education, the Association of Indian Universities, the Association of Heads of Anglo-Indian Schools, the Indian Public Schools' Conference, the Association of Schools for the ISC Examination and members co-opted by the Executive Committee of the Council.
