JEE Main April 2020 Postponed: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the JEE Main April 2020 in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak.
"The competent authority of the National Testing Agency has postponed the ensuing JEE (Main) April 2020 examinations scheduled on the 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th April 2020 ", the NTA said in an official notification posted on its website.
"The new dates of JEE (Main) examinations will be announced on the 31st March 2020", the NTA said.
The NTA has also delayed the download of JEE Main April 2020 Admit Card which was supposed to be issued on March 20.
"The admit cards for the examinations (JEE Main April 2020) which were to be issued on 20th March 2020 will now be issued after 31st March 2020 only", the NTA said.
The education ministry had on Wednesday asked the Central Board of Secondary Educationt (CBSE), National Testing Agency (NTA) and all educational institutions in the country to postpone exams till March 31 in view of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
"While maintenance of academic calendar and exam schedule is important, equally important is safety and security of students who are appearing in various examinations as also of their teachers and parents," HRD secretary Amit Khare said in an official communication.
Following the advisory, the Class 12th and Class 10th exams conducted by the CBSE and other exams are also postponed.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main April 2020 Information Brochure. According to the NTA Schedule, JEE Main April, or JEE Main 2, was supposed to be held between April 05 to 11, 2020 in Online Mode. The exam however now stands cancelled.
