New Delhi: India recorded another Coronavirus related death Monday taking its Covid-19 death toll to 8, the latest reports coming from the capital said.

The reports said a citizen of the Philippines succumbed to renal failure and respiratory distress in Mumbai.

The Filipino initially tested positive for Covid-19 and was shifted from Kasturba hospital to a private healthcare facility where he tested negative the second time around.

The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India reached 419 on Monday, including the foreign nationals, the Union Health Ministry said.

"This number also includes 30 patients who tested positive but were discharged after undergoing treatment", the ministry said.

75 districts in India in lockdown

Among the 22 states and union territories where the cases were found, Maharashtra had the highest patient count followed by Kerala.

As many as 75 districts in the 22 Coronavirus affected states including Delhi, are on complete lockdown since March 20.

India as a whole observed 'Janata Curfew' - complete shutdown, for a day on Sunday. Many states announced the extension of shutdown amidst the Janata Curfew as Coronavirus positive cases saored further.

The Indian Railways has suspended all passenger and express trains including Mumbai local trains. Publis transport buses and auto-rickshaws too are off the roads.
