Maharashtra SSC Exam 2020: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) in a late evening decision Sunday postponed the last paper of Maharashtra SSC (Class 10 Metric) board exam 2020 scheduled to be held today i.e. Monday March 23.

The decision to postpone the Maharashtra SSC board exam was taken in view of the Coronavirus outbreak.

"The new date of the SSC exam 2020 postponed due to Coronavirus will be announced after March 31, 2020", the Maharashtra Education Minister said.

Maharashtra is the worst hit state in India by the Coronavirus outbreak. The state had earlier postponed all other exams, including MAH MCA CET 2020.

However, the state was reluctant to postpone the 2020 SSC exams as only 02 papers were left. But, in a late evening decision taken Sunday, the government decided to postpone Monday's paper as Coronavirus cases in the state continued to surge.

As on Sunday, Maharashtra had reported 74 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 02 of the 07 deaths in India.

The last paper of SSC Class 10 board exam scheduled to be held on Monday was of Social Science Paper-II/Geography. The timing of the paper was from morning to 11:00 to 01:00 in the afternoon.

The paper however now stands cancelled and rescheduled to a new date which will be announced after March 31.

Because of the postponement of the SSC 2020 Exam, it is most likely that the Maharashtra SSC Class 10 result 2020 will also be delayed.

Normally, the Maharashtra board declares SSC board exam result in the first week of June.
