Chandigarh: A nurse working at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram was Wednseady detected Coronavirus positive in Panipat town, latest report coming from Haryana health officials said.
With this, total number of Coronavirus positive cases in Haryana jumped to 17 with Gurugram district seeing the highest 10 patients.
Haryana in its medical bulletin Tuesday said 8,675 passengers and people were put under surveillance till date. Out of them 617 have completed surveillance period of 28 days.
Faridabad, Sonipat, Palwal and Panchkula districts see each one case, while Panipat district has two cases.
The state came into complete lockdown from Tuesday.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has launched a voluntary programme to provide public services relating to combating coronavirus.
To defeat COVID-19, the programme named 'Covid -- Sangharsh Senani' was launched on Monday so that people could voluntarily give their services in hospitals -- both paramedics and doctors -- and in district administration.
Those who are interested to give their services can register themselves on haryana.mygov.in and covidharyana.in
To break the chain of transmission, the government has directed its employees to work from home to ensure social distancing till March 31.
Meanwhile, the government on Tuesday appointed 447 doctors and created a revolving fund of Rs 100 crore for each crucial departments to battle the coronavirus.
The departments include Medical Education and Research, Health, Revenue, Home and Urban Local Bodies.
