Occupied Jerusalem: In another incident reminiscent of the loses to the Zionist army , an Israeli soldier who participated in the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza woke up from a nightmare, picked up an assault rifle and started shooting his colleagues, Hebrew media reported.
The soldier was staying at a resort in Ashkelon in southern Israel which is used by the military for rehabilitation purposes at the time of the shocking incident, Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Wednesday.
The soldier opened fire on a wall, injuring an undisclosed number of soldiers who suffered shrapnel wounds, the Jerusalem Post reported citing the local media.
The incident was referred for investigation to Israel’s Ministry of Defence, however it was decided that no further action would be taken due to the soldier’s psychological state.
Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza
The Zionist regime in Israel is hiding the losses inflicted on its army in Gaza. According to the official figures, it has confirmed the death 167 soldiers in Gaza, some of them the government claimed were killed in “friendly shooting”.
However, local Israeli media put the casualty figure of the Israeli soldiers much higher than the official numbers.
Citing an Israeli Ministry of Defense official, Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth had earlier this month reported that Israeli hospitals are flooded by wounded soldiers, receiving at least 60 injured army personnel daily.
Citing the Israeli official, the newspaper also reported that as many 2,000 soldiers wounded in Gaza are officially recognized by the Ministry of Defence as disabled.
Also, the social media is flooded with videos and images showing accounts of Israeli soldiers who are crying and complaining about the mental trauma they are facing after participation in the inhuman massacre of civilians in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories.

Incidentally, similar complaints of mental trauma and fatigues were also reported by the soldiers of the United States and its allies who were involved in the massacre of civilians in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Unable to handle their mental condition, many of these soldiers have committed suicide.
US soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder also similarly opened fire on colleagues and general public. One such incident was reported in November 2018 when in one the deadliest attacks in the United States, a 28-year-old Marine Corps 'veteran' of the Afghanistan war walked into a country music dance club in Thousand Oaks, California and opened fire with a handgun, killing 12 people and wounding 25.
Gaza latest update
Israeli Occupation Army has waged a deadly war against the Palestinians in Gaza Strip and Occupied West Bank following the Operation Al Aqsa Flood launched by Hamas and other Resistance Groups on Oct 7, 2023.
According to the Health Ministry of Palestine, the death toll in Gaza since Oct 7 is more than 21,000 - over 80 per cent of them women and children, as on Dec 28, 2023.
The Ministry said at least 55, 240 civilians have been injured in round the clock shelling by the Israeli Occupation Forces and over 7,000 are missing.
Another 313 Palestinians have been killed in the Occupied West Bank, the Health Ministry said.
