Rome: Giorgia Meloni is the first woman Prime Minister of Italy. 46-year-old Meloni started her political career when she was just 15 and joined the Youth Front, the youth wing of the Italian Social Movement (MSI) - a neo-fascist political party founded by former followers of Italian fascism in 1946.
Meloni has been a member of Chamber of Deputies, the Lower House of the Italian Parliament since 2006. She became Prime Minister of Italy after leading Brothers of Italy (FdI) political party to victory in the 2022 Italy elections.
According to political pundits, Meloni is leading the most “right wing” government in Italy since World War II. In her long political career however she has been in news most of the time for bad news.
True to her record, Meloni hit the media headlines Sunday after the annual Atreju festival of Brothers of Italy (FdI) – the far-right, ultra-conservative and fascist party of which she is one of the founders and chief.
Addressing the festival, Meloni spewed venom against Islam, Islamic Sharia and Islamic values and culture. She was especially angry about the Islamic punishment for adultery, apostasy and homosexuality and boasted about the “Rich European Culture”.
Meloni was born in January 1977 to Francesco Meloni a tax consultant and Anna Paratore. Francesco Meloni however abandoned the Italian Prime Mother’s mother, left Italy and married another woman.
Francesco Meloni was later convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to nine years in a Spanish prison.
Possibly because of this she could not get formal education. In her election documents, Meloni claimed to have obtained a high school diploma in languages and journalism from l’Istituto tecnico professionale di Stato Amerigo Vespucci. This created a huge controversy as the l’Istituto tecnico professionale di Stato Amerigo Vespucci is a hospitality institute and not a foreign language high school and issues professional diplomas for job titles such as chef, waiter, entertainer, tour guide, hostess, depending on the course of studies chosen by the student.
This despite the fact that she has been in a relationship without marriage with Andrea Giambruno – a journalist and TV host, with whom she also claims to have an out of wedlock girl child.
In her bio, Giorgia Meloni claims to be Roman Christian and a conservative, and a champion of "God, fatherland, and family". Despite her religious belief and calling herself a strong believer in family values, she never married her boyfriend. When questioned, she defended her illicit relationship.
Meloni is upset that Islam has strict punishment for adultery. But perhaps she has not been educated that in Christianity too adultery is considered not only a sin between an individual and God but as an injustice that reverberates through society by harming its fundamental unit, the family.
Two months ago, Meloni was in news when her boyfriend Andrea Giambruno, in a leaked video tape was seen proposing a female co-host for group sex. In the video, Andrea Giambruno appeared to grab his genitals while making the suggestive comments to the female colleague. Meloni announced break-up with him only after the leaked video sparked a huge outrage across Italy and elsewhere.
Meloni supports a naval blockade to halt immigration, and she has been accused of xenophobia and Islamophobia. The Italian Prime Minister, a proud Christian, true to her religious beliefs is against euthanasia, same-sex marriage, and LGBT parenting.
Meloni is also opposed to abortion. She is of the view that nuclear families are exclusively headed by male-female pairs. Her discourse includes femonationalist rhetoric and criticism of globalism.
As per the Christian belief too these practices are against the religion. But they are also part of the Western and European Culture which leads to the births of bastards and illegitimate children who are then recruited in the so called terror organisations like ISIS and other private militias.
