California: Indian-American pro-Palestine activist Riddhi Patel (Ridhi Patel) is trending Saturday following her speech delivered at the Bakersfield Council meeting about the situation in Gaza where she cited Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi and Hindu festival Navaratri to justify Palestinian struggle for freedom.
Ridhi Patel was responding to the Bakersfield City Council's stance on a Gaza ceasefire resolution and the council’s failure to express its concern, coupled with increased security measures around government buildings due to ongoing anti-Israel protests.
Riddhi Patel while invoking Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, and Chaitra Navartri to justify the struggle of Palestinians to liberate their homeland for the Zionist occupation in her impassionate speech said:
"You guys are all horrible human beings and Jesus probably would have killed you himself. And none of you care because you guys don't care about anything happening in Palestine or any other country where oppression occurs and where oppression occurs."
"You guys don't care about the oppression happening here. You guys, those who votes to win in Bakersfield, parade Gandhi around and a Hindu holiday called Chaitra Navaratri that starts off this week. I remind you that these holidays that we practice, that other people in the global south practice, believe in violent revolution against their oppressors," she said.
Riddhi Patel is the Economic Development Coordinator for the Center for Race, Poverty and the Environment, according to the organisation's website and her LinkedIn Profile.
She was born and raised in Bakersfield and received her early education from Stockdale High School. She completed Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Saint Louis University in 2017.

Riddhi Patel ended her speech saying:
"And I hope one day, somebody brings the guillotine and kills all of you m***********".
Her concluding remarks however landed Ridhi Patel in trouble as the local authorities arrested accusing her of threatening to kill the Bakersfield Mayor and other council members.
When produced in court, she pleaded not guilty. Patel, who now faces 16 felony counts, will again be produced in the court on April 24, 2024.
Meanwhile, Patel's arrest has sparked a mssive outrage in the United States and also in India. Accusing the US of double standard, social media users said Sikh extremists day in and day out give threatening calls against the Indian Prime Minister. But, the US provides protection to them whereas Patel is facing trial because of her comments.
