Watch: How OBC became Owaisi after Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali boycott call

Mumbai: In a bizarre explanation to his alleged derogatory remarks made against Other Backward Class (OBC), Baba Ramdev Sunday January 14, 2024 said he referred Owaisi and not OBCs.

Baba Ramdev’s bizarre explanation came after a call to boycott Panatnajli products started trending on different social media platforms.

The call to boycott Pantanjali products began after Baba Ramdev in a video is heard demeaning OBCs and making derogatory remarks against them.

“My original gotra is Brahma gotra. I am an Agnihotri Brahman. People say babaji is OBC... OBC ki aisi ki taisi… I am a Vedi Brahmin, Dwivedi Brahmin, Trivedi Brahmin, Chaturvedi Brahmin - I have read four Vedas”, he is heard saying in the video, not independently verified by ummid.com.

Baba Ramdev’s comments sparked outrage and the call to boycott Patanjali products began trending on different social media platforms.

Following the boycott call, Ramdev came with a bizarre explanation and said he never gave any statement against the OBCs Owaisi as seen in the purported video and was actually referring to.

“OBCs? I never gave any statement against them”, he told the news agency PTI.

“I was referring to Owaisi. He and his ancestors have always worked with anti-national mind-set. I don’t take him seriously”, he said.

Baba Ramdev’s outrageous explanation sparked another debate with many social media users opining that this showed the status of Muslims in Modi rule where you can say anything to Muslims and get away with it unpunished. Watch video below:
