Emmy Award winning Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany bursts into tears over Israeli genocide of Palestinians while calling for immediate ceasefire in Gaza delivering Hollywood Walk of Fame Award acceptance speech.
In an unexpected surprise the star of She-Hulk and Orphan Black told the committee and the audience in the ceremony, it’s a must for Israel to stop its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and for the Canadian government to stop funding Israel.
Her comments are trending on social media.
“It’s strange to be standing up here when we are witnessing the genocide of the Palestinian people at the hands of the Israeli settler colonial state,” Maslany said.
“… We watch and we do nothing and I would say with whatever platform I have that we can’t do nothing and I would demand that our government demands ceasefire, stop funding the genocide, stop being complicit in it.”
She then thanked everyone for the honour conferred on her and ended her speech, shouting “Free Palestine”.

Later, speaking to the media she said what is happening in Gaza is beyond, beyond comprehension.
“There is so much action that can be taken by our government, by the U.S. government but they are doing exactly the opposite”, she said.
“And by funding the Israeli army. By supporting the genocide, we are complicit”, the only Canadian actress to win Primetime Emmy Awards added in reference to Canada’s pro-Israeli stances.
“And so I couldn’t stand up here as a Canadian, flanked by Mounties without speaking to that and without acknowledging it”, she said.
More than 37,800 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel waged its war on the besieged enclave on October 7, 2023.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said Saturday June 29, 2024 as many as 40 Palestinians were killed and 224 wounded in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
Israeli forces targeted a water distribution point in Gaza City, killing four members of the al-Ghazi family including a child, according to Al Jazeera.
The new Israeli ground offensive in Gaza City’s Shujayea neighbourhood forced the displacement of “at least 60,000” residents, while the Israel’s military operations in the al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza resulted in 5,000 people displaced and many casualties, UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Saturday.
