Madhya Pradesh's new Transport Policy endorsed

Bhopal: The central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has been selected for World Bank's prestigious South Asia Vice-President Team Award for District Poverty Initiatives Programme (DPIP), project being implemented in the state.


This award has been announced after successful and result-oriented implementation of the project's first phase in the state and effective preparation for the second phase by South Asia region of the World Bank.


World Bank's Task Team Manager Nathan Belt has congratulated DPIP's State Project Coordinator D. P. Ahuja, the then Project Coordinator Dr Ravindra Pastor and state, district and cluster level teams working for the project for this achievement.


Congratulation has also been given to the then Task Manager for Madhya Pradesh Luis Constantino and Martin van Newcoop.


It may be mentioned here that the first phase of DPIP project has been successfully completed in about 3,000 villages in 53 development blocks of 14 districts recently and the work on the second phase has been started.
