Bhopal:
Popular Front of India, (PFI), has announced a National Public
Health Campaign to be held from November 1 to 15 this year. The aim
of the campaign is to create public awareness about the importance
of physical and mental health care and also people’s role in keeping
the environment clean, pollution-free and hygienic.
Various campaign steps will be carried
out in all the states where Popular Front has units and cadres. The
programmes include classes and demonstrations on environmental
protection, disease prevention, yoga, physical exercises and right
food habits. Sports and games events, mass cleaning of public
places, cultural programmes like documentary shows and street dramas
are also planned. The campaign to be held with cooperation of local
education and health department officers will further strengthen the
government level public health efforts. A wall poster, hand bill
and booklet on Exercises and Health prepared by Popular Front
Headquarters will be circulated in different languages like English,
Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam etc.
According to a Press Release issued by
PFI Media Secretary the National Executive Council, (NEC), meeting
of Popular Front was held at New Delhi which gave final touches to
the campaign programme.
The NEC meeting also decided to
observe December 6, the anniversary day of Babri Masjid demolition
as Anti-Fascist Day. This nation-wide campaign will focus on the
follow-up action regarding the findings of Liberhan’s Commission
which probed the Babri Masjid demolition.
PFI Chairman E. M. Abdul Rahiman
presided the meeting. General Secretary K. M. Shareef presented the
reports. Those who attended the meeting included A. Sayeed, E.
Abubacker, Dr. Mehboob Shareef, Sheik Muhammed Dahlan Baqavi,
Moulana Usman Baig, Muhammed Ali Jinnah, V. P. Nasruddin, K. Abdul
Lathif and Ya Moideen.
