Bhopal BHEL develops new design of 167 kw DC traction motor

Bhopal: The transportation group of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit has once again created a landmark by developing a new design of 167 kW DC traction motor for the prestigious project of Kolkata Metro.

     

Since, the traffic density in the city has further increased and commutating time expectations have also reduced, a high power, more reliable version of the motor has been designed for the new requirements. The motor is with Class 200 insulation system for compact construction and mounted on roller suspension arrangement for higher reliability and low maintenance. 

 

As a souvenir of New year, the first lot of motors was handed over by the MK Dube, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal unit to MC Pant, Executive Director, RDSO, Railways  in a elegant function organised in Traction motor manufacturing block on the opening day of 2010.

 

The occasion was also graced by the presence of GD Verma, GM (TPTN & CET), MK Shakya, GM(Quality& Feeders), D. Sen, GM (P&D), RK Girdoniya, GM (HR), SV Chinchwadkar, GM (SCR), D.Raina, GM (Tptn & Systems Engg.) and other senior officials of BHEL, Bhopal.

     

It may be recalled here that since the beginning of Kolkata Metro around 30 years back, BHEL has been supplying complete electrics for the trains and these are successfully running in the metro system providing comfort to the people of Kolkata through a fast and easy mode of transport within the city. The tradition of trust and confidence still continues and BHEL has been again entrusted to supply complete electrics for 13 more rakes to be introduced for public service for the extension project of Kolkata metro in Tollygonj - Garia section in the city of Kolkata.

     

“New Year 2010”

Meanwhile, on the occasion of “New Year 2010” Helping Hands & Blew Computers Center of BHEL Ladies Club organized a colourful cultural programme. M K Dube, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal graced the occasion as chief guest and Mrs. Bharti Dube, president, BHEL Ladies Club, presided over the function. Vice Presidents of various wings of BHEL Ladies Club, GMs of BHEL and large number of employees of Helping Hands were present on this occasion.

 

While wishing New Year, Dube said that while fulfilling responsibilities under Corporate Social Responsibilities, BHEL Bhopal is always dedicated for development and support of such social organisations.

He appreciated the schemes of Helping Hands & Blew Computers for uplifting the people, especially women from economically weaker section of society. He said that women are good managers and it is really appreciable the way they have managed these organizations.

 

While highlighting the welfare and social work done by BHEL Ladies Club for these employees, Mrs. Dube said that all the members of BHEL Ladies Club are totally dedicated for the development of the employees of Helping Hands. She also shared the efforts BHEL Ladies Club made for providing employment to the employees these social organisations.

 

While stressing on providing employment , she said that what matters is providing respectful employment and BHEL Ladies Club has made all its efforts for providing respectful employment and protecting their rights.

 

On this occasion Dube also presented New year gifts to the employees of Helping Hands. Employees of Helping Hands presented various songs and cultural programme on this occasion. Mrs. Manju Shukla conducted the programme.
