Dalai Lama to open World Peace Festival in Pune

Retired super cop and social activist Kiran Bedi and some of the eminent scientists and educationists will participate in the World Peace Festival here Oct 10, which Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will inaugurate, organisers said.   »

Malegaon: Belief in God and faith in life after death are keys to the world peace, said renowned Islamic preacher Zaid Patel even as hundreds in Malegaon - and thousands other in various parts of India, prayed for world peace through 'Peace Meditation'.

"Once we have total faith in God and belief in life after death, we will regard ourselves to be accountable for whatever we do in our day-to-day life", Zaid Patel said while addressing a mammoth gathering in Malegaon.

The gathering was part of the World Peace Festival organised by Tej Gyan Foundation. Tej Gyan Foundation, a Pune-based charitable trust, has organised the programme -- "World Peace...Piece by Piece" to champion the cause of peace. As part of this movement, the foundation October 10 organised the peace festivals in various parts of India to promote the cause.

"We should understand that all human beings are brothers and despite differences have the tendency to co-exist. But lack of communication sometimes damages this tendency and we who strive for peace are left into pieces", he said.

Quoting from the Holy Quran and stating that there is no compulsion in Islam and the God Himself has given us right to whichever religion we intend to, Zaid said, "At the same time, He has advised us all to think on the purpose of our being into in this world. Once we think on this, we will surrender to the will of the God and then will become role models."

Taking the discussion even further, Ms. Alka Nimbalkar - a serving officer in Govt. of Maharashtra, said, "World peace is in the idea of mutual understanding and respect to other's rights. To get this we should start from bringing peace within…if a person is peaceful he will instrument a peace in the world by expansion….then afterwards we should expand the border….

Explained using examples… we need to create chain of people…peaceful people..those who have already found peace within…by creating chain of people we will bridge the gaps in the world….the beautiful world…koshish karne wale ki kabhi haar nahi hoti…the process is difficult but not impossible

“Go home and love your family”.. Mother Tersea said to one who ask the secret of the peace…

In vicharon se Malegaon badle, yeh meri aasha
