Bangalore:
A new bench of the Karnataka High Court will hear Nov 2 the plea
of five independent legislators against their disqualification
following Monday's split verdict by a two-judge bench on 11
disqualified law makers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP).
Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice N. Kumar who were hearing
the plea of the independent legislators along with the appeal of
the 11 BJP law makers, Monday differed on the action of the
speaker on the BJP legislators' issue.
While Chief Justice Khehar upheld the disqualification of BJP
legislators, Justice Kumar quashed it.
Following the differences between the two judges, a single judge
bench will decide the issue of BJP legislators Oct 20.
In the light of the differing views on the BJP law makers' issue,
the two judges decided that the plea of the five independent
legislators should be heard by a different bench.

A Masjid and Mandir stand side
by side in Malegaon. Though the town is regarded as
communally sensitive place and has actually gone through a
series of riots and terrorist attacks, people here are known
for living together, and in peace and harmony since hundreds
of years. The picture is taken during the

Festival that ended October 17. Every year the Mandir is
illuminated and decorated with lights and special Pujas are
held even as Muslims pray in the Madjid almost
simultaneously.
