Aslam is acting vice-chancellor of IGNOU

New Delhi: M. Aslam Friday became
the acting vice-chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Open
University.
He took over from V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, who completed his
five-year tenure Thursday, according to a release.
Aslam was director of the School of Continuing Education (SOCE) at
IGNOU and since 1992 professor of Rural Development at the
university.
He was also director of the National Centre for Innovations in
Distance Education (NCIDE) of the university for over three years.
Aslam, 64, has a master's degree in Sociology. He got his M.Phil
in 1975 and Ph.D. in 1978, the varsity said.
