Zeti Aziz wins IDB prize for Islamic banking, finance

Kuala Lumpur: Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz has been named winner of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) prize in Islamic Banking and Finance for 2012.

The prize will be awarded to Zeti during the 37th IDB board of governors’ annual meeting in Khartoum, Sudan on April 3–4.

The IDB prize selection committee, comprising eminent scholars and experts from outside and inside the bank, decided unanimously to award the prize to Zeti, considering her significant contribution, dedication and leadership in the development of Islamic banking and finance industry, takaful infrastructure and shariah governance framework within and outside Malaysia.
