Rohtak: A man in
this Haryana town was Saturday booked for raping his 32-year-old
non-resident Indian (NRI) sister, police said.
According to the police, they have registered a case of rape and
causing hurt with poison under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
"We have booked the accused on charges of rape and causing hurt by
poison after recording statement of the victim today (Saturday).
The victim has been undergoing treatment and her condition is
stable," Rohtak Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Virender
Singh told IANS.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that she recently came to
Rohtak from Italy to spend her vacations. On Friday night, while
she was alone at her house in sector-2, her brother came and raped
her. After committing the crime, he forcibly fed her a poisonous
substance.
The victim told police that on regaining consciousness, she called
her friend, who admitted her in a government hospital.
Police had Friday arrested a man for raping his 14-year-old
step-daughter over a period of one year at his rented house in
Sheetal Nagar area of the town, which is also the hometown of
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
