New Delhi: Delhi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Harsharan Singh Balli, denied ticket from his Hari Nagar constituency, Tuesday said he will join the Congress following nomination assurance.
"I will join the Congress Wednesday. Senior leaders in the party have assured me ticket from Hari Nagar," four-time legislator Balli told IANS.
While there was no official confirmation from the Congress, party sources told IANS he is likely to get the ticket.
Congress Monday declared its first list of candidates in which it decided to field Surender Kumar Setia from Hari Nagar, held by Balli.
BJP denied ticket to Balli after deciding to give the seat to its old ally, Akali Dal (Badal) which decided to field Shyam Sharma.
