New Delhi: The national capital has witnessed the maximum number of registrations for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013, according to the mid-registration trend released by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, Friday.
Delhi is followed by Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, according to the registration data accumulated till Sep 5.
The examination centres in Delhi, the National Capital Region (NCR), Bangalore and Hyderabad will soon be closed for registration as these are close to registering the targeted number of candidates.
The registration window for CAT 2013 ends Sep 26.
"The craze among the students for master in business administration (MBA) degree is high and registration for CAT shows the trend. Students see value in return on investment (ROI) for attending the IIMs," said Rohit Kapoor, convenor of CAT-2013.
"They see how placement salaries at IIMs compare favourably, not only in India but even internationally, considering tuition cost. Getting placement upon graduation is never an issue," he said.
